The term ‘Années Folles’, “crazy years” in French, refers to the decade of the 1920’s in France; so called because of the fertile social, artistic, and cultural collaborations of the period. Cafés around Paris became places where artists and writers created a thriving art and literary scene. New forms of expression to poetry came about and the avant-garde movement moved from the bourgeoisie. Nightlife, music, sports, film and theatre created waves and there arose at the same time in Paris, a popular culture.
Truly an exciting time!
